The Eel River runs clear in the summer.  The old growth redwoods are soon to be logged at a  location like this within view of the Redwood Highway .  This new devastation in Redwoods along the scenic Avenue of the Giants will be provided by Georgia Pacific Lumber.   Many people feel that logging should be confined to new growth only.

If mining ancient natural treasures seems a waste to you please read more about this and then write to the California Department of Forestry or your representatives    If you would like to someday come here to take photos you can act to protect this area now.   Otherwise, cutting in this area could  be approved in the next few weeks.
